Carbon Capture Corporation was formed in 2006 by the owners of Imperial Group and key members of its management team are now actively involved in running the company. This group of individuals, through Imperial Group, successfully executed over $100 million in federal contracts issued by various agencies between 1993 and 2010. This commercial talent and expertise, together with the complete technical team assembled, is now applied to supporting our vision to reduce global warming and supply sustainable fuels and feed. algae production, power generation, real estate and biotechnology.
Paul Engh, CEO, Carbon Capture Corporation and Managing Partner of the Imperial Group companies
Mr.
Engh is CCC’s founder and main investor. Prior to CCC, Mr. Engh
developed approximately 40 federal office projects with Imperial Group.
Additionally, Mr. Engh has managed a diverse portfolio of agricultural,
mineral and energy investments. He holds a B.A. in Economics from UC
Davis.
Mrs.
Kulikowski-Tan initially joined CCC as a consultant and actively
engaged private-public partnership opportunities on behalf of the
company. Prior to joining CCC, Mrs. Kulikowski-Tan was senior
vice-president with the ADEPT Group, a consulting firm specializing in
research, development, and commercialization of new technologies in
transportation and energy applications. Her expertise includes project
management, strategic planning, capitalization and market research.
Tom Daniel, Principal
Dr. Daniel joined
Carbon Capture as an advisor at its inception and is now a principal
investor. A former Professor of Medicine and Cell Biology at
Vanderbilt University, he led large research & development
organizations at leading biotech companies, lmmunex and Amgen. In
2003, as Chief Scientific Officer and Director, he built and led a
venture backed startup, Ambrx, through technology implementation,
manufacturing and initiation of clinical trials, raising approximately
$100M in capital to manufacture optimized protein medicines.
Currently, he is President, Research for Celgene. He obtained his MD
degree from UT Southwestern, trained at Massachusetts General Hospital,
and was funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and NIH.
Martin Gordon, Principal, Director, Process Development
Mr.
Gordon has four years of algae farming experience in Southern
California, including laboratory work and process development for algae
growth parameters and harvesting. His background also includes
mechanical systems design and inter-acing biological systems work, as
well as OSHA and EPA compliance. Mr. Gordon is CEO of Valley Spreader
Co. and holds a B.S. in Biology from San Diego State University.
Bernard Raemy, Principal
Mr.
Raemy joined CCC in 2006 and became a principal investor in 2007. His
background includes power project development with Terra-Gen Power and MidAmerican Energy
Holdings Company. He holds a Master's degree in Business
Administration from Duke University in 1995 and a Bachelor's in
Mechanical Engineering from La Haute Ecole Arc ingénierie, Switzerland,
in 1989.
Jim DeMattia, Principal, Director, Aquatic Biology
Mr.
DeMattia has 10 years of aquaculture experience ranging from
aquacultural engineering and system design to fish, invertebrate and
aquatic plant husbandry, including micro/macro algae culture. He
received a grant to develop culture techniques for endangered species
from the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego. Mr.
DeMattia holds a B.S. is in Aquatic Biology from UC Santa Barbara.
